Technology

The Kohler School District is committed to achieving and maintaining a cutting edge approach to technology in the classroom and on campus grounds. Innovations in all areas are progressing at a rapid pace. There are more and more software and hardware pieces being designed that will allow us to create a learning environment at every level to provide teachers and students with the tools they need to thrive.

The technology staff is committed to keeping the existing environment running smoothly but also learning and growing with the future to stay ahead of the curve. Most recently we have been able to improve or provide the following:

New servers and network storage - provides the backbone of the district wide network and now allows growth with future expansions or system changes.

1-1 Campus wide with student devices - No student will have to share or wait for technology for their day-to-day class work.

Expanded wireless coverage and bandwidth - Critical to support the current 1-1 model and eliminate drop zones and web traffic buffering.

Introduction of next gen Anti-Virus - School Districts are becoming targets for ransomware with the goal of getting payment to release. Our new software stops these attacks before they even start.

Embracing the AI model - AI is here to stay and it will only impact the future more and more. We have taken steps to introduce some of the tools made for education and expose students to use uses and limitations to better prepare them for their future.

As your IT Coordinator, my role is to keep this district moving forward and providing your child and their teachers with everything they need to succeed in this ever-changing world.
